Qniversed: A Celebration of Transformation Through Quality

There are moments in a company’s journey when you realise that the business you started is no longer quite the business you are building.

The name may be the same. The values may be familiar. The people may even be the ones who have been there from the beginning.

But something has changed.

For Qniverse, that change has been happening over time.

What began with a focus on quality and software testing has grown into a broader technology organisation, with new products, new capabilities, and new ways of thinking about what quality means.

The Qniversed Annual Gala 2026 was an opportunity to pause and reflect on that journey.

Not simply to celebrate where we are, but to recognise what brought us here.

The theme said it simply:

A Celebration of Transformation Through Quality

And three ideas sat at the heart of it:

  • Evolve
  • Elevate
  • Empower

Quality Was the Starting Point

Qniverse’s story is rooted in QA.

That matters because transformation does not mean throwing away everything that came before. Some things are worth carrying forward.

The tools, methodologies, and technologies change.

The standard does not have to.

That idea came through strongly during the gala. The introduction of AI has changed how much work can be done and how quickly it can be done. But the discipline behind good quality was built long before AI entered the canvas.

A faster way of testing does not automatically mean better testing.

A generated test case does not automatically mean a thoughtful test case.

And an automated process still needs someone who understands what is worth testing in the first place.

That distinction is important because technology can change the mechanics of quality without changing what quality actually demands.

Evolve: Learning to Work Differently

For years, automation meant teaching software to repeat tasks that people once performed manually.

Today, the conversation is different.

AI can help generate tests, review them, maintain them, and accelerate parts of the QA workflow. Modern automation engineers are increasingly expected to understand programming, APIs, frameworks, version control, and CI/CD pipelines alongside traditional testing principles.

That changes the role.

The QA engineer of tomorrow cannot simply be someone who knows how to run a test suite.

They need to understand the application, the technology underneath it, and the reason a particular test matters.

That is why Qniverse’s approach to automation emphasises developer-capable skills before automation itself. The aim is to build engineers who can design, debug, and scale automation rather than simply record scripts.

AI becomes another tool in that toolkit.

A powerful one, certainly. But still a tool.

Elevate: Raising the Standard

Transformation is sometimes confused with doing things faster.

But speed is only one measure.

The more important question is whether the quality of the outcome improves.

At Qniverse, that means thinking beyond whether a feature passes a test. It means considering risk, edge cases, maintainability, performance, and the experience of the person ultimately using the software.

This is where quality engineering begins to look different from traditional testing.

The question shifts from:

“Did we find the bug?”

to:

“What can we do to build better quality into the product from the beginning?”

That is a bigger question.

And it requires a bigger mindset.

Empower: Putting People at the Centre

Technology may have been one of the biggest themes of the gala, but the celebration was ultimately about people.

Because AI did not create Qniverse’s quality mindset.

The people did.

The gala’s message to the team recognised exactly that: AI may make work faster, but the refusal to compromise on quality came from the people who had been doing the work all along.

That is an important distinction in a period when conversations about AI often become conversations about replacement.

A better way to look at it is augmentation.

  • Give people better tools.
  • Give them time back from repetitive work.
  • Give them opportunities to work on harder problems.

Then expect more from their judgement, creativity, and curiosity.

That is empowerment.

The Next Chapter Is Bigger Than QA

Perhaps the most significant part of Qniverse’s transformation is that quality is no longer the boundary of the story.

It is the foundation.

The same thinking that shaped Qniverse’s QA work now informs the wider organisation as it builds and grows into new areas.

That means taking the lessons of quality into products, technology, learning, and business solutions.

The company is changing shape.

But the underlying question remains remarkably consistent:

“Can we build something better?”

That question has room for AI.

It has room for automation.

It has room for new products, new skills, and new ideas.

And it gives Qniverse a way to move forward without losing sight of where it began.

Looking Forward

A gala is, by nature, a moment to celebrate.

But the most useful celebrations also give you a chance to look around and ask what comes next.

For Qniverse, the answer is not about choosing between experience and new technology.

It is about bringing the two together.

  • Evolve by learning and adapting.
  • Elevate by raising the standard.
  • Empower by giving people the tools and trust to do more.

That is what transformation looks like when it is built on quality.

And perhaps that is the real story behind Qniversed.

Not that technology changed.

Not even that AI arrived.

But that a company built around quality found new ways to carry that value forward.

The tools will keep changing. The possibilities will keep expanding.

But the standard is ours to set.
